Post
Graduate Programme in Management: (PGP)
The two year Post
graduation Programme is a full time residential course for graduates from
all disciplines wanting to choose a career in management. During the two
year of PGP the participant will receive academic inputs in two parts,
namely, the compulsory package and the elective package. Distinct
objectives will be served by each package. Largely, the compulsory package
will be in the first year and the elective packages would be in the second
year. All first year modules are compulsory. The input of the compulsory
package is essential for all managers.
The compulsory
package occupies 62 percent of the total curriculum, which includes
several organization-based projects. The aim of the compulsory package is
to provide the participant with the fundamental knowledge, skills and the
techniques contextual understanding, and overall perspective necessary for
general management.
It will also help
them move towards general management positions where the challenges and
the contributions may be the greatest.
The mixture of
compulsory and elective courses will help participants develop an in-depth
understanding of the interrelationships crucial to the successful business
management. This will enable them to be more effective in their jobs while
being sensitive to the issues and challenges confronting people in other
parts of the organization.
Eligibility
A
Bachelor's degree (10+2+3 system) recognized by the Association of Indian
Universities/AICTE as eligible for Postgraduate
studies OR an equivalent degree in Agriculture, Arts, Commerce,
Engineering and Science.
Candidates
appearing at the final bachelor's degree (10+2+3) or equivalent degree
examinations are also eligible to apply provided they complete all their
graduating requirements including practical examinations/assignments
before June 30 of the proposed year of admission. Their admission will,
however, be considered provisional until they produce their marksheet
satisfying the eligibility criterion. The time limit for submitting the
graduating marksheet is December 31 of the proposed year of
admission.
Open University
graduates must show proof of minimum three years after class twelve and a
certificate from the university equivalent to a bachelors
degree.
Diplomas like Hotel
Management, Fashion Technology are not eligible unless equivalent
certificates to a three year university degree are
provided.
Foreign Students
A
non-resident Indian or a foreign candidate is eligible to apply to 2-yr
residential program PGDM.
The eligibility
requirements are:
A Bachelor's degree from a
recognised institute or university
A
high GMAT score(with AWA score) (not older than 2 yrs)and a consistently
good academic record up to the Bachelor's degree level.GMAT has to be
taken in the candiadte's country of residence.
TOEFL scores will also be required from
non-English speaking countries.
Three letters of recommendation from a
competent authority and a Statement of Purpose. Non refundable
application processing fees of US$ 100.
Foreign/NRI candidates residing in India
will have to take CAT and appear for Group Discussion and Personal
Interview, if short listed.
Foreign/NRI candidates if short listed but
cannot appear for normal admission process may have to take a written test
and interview as arranged by the Institute.
These candidates if selected will have to submit
all the requisite certificates like the 'No Objection Certificate' from
the Govt. of India and Ministry of HRD
Admission
Process
Candidates seeking admission to the
two-year PGP of IIM Indore have to appear in the Common Admission Test
[CAT] as described in the CAT advertisement, which was published in
leading news papers on July 17, 2005. No additional fee needs to be paid
for applying to IIM Indore. There are separate guidelines for
international applicants.
Candidates shortlisted for group discussion and interview will be
intimated latest by 3rd week of January 2006. Individual regret letters
are not sent to applicants who are not called for group discussion and
interview. IIM Indore conducts admission interviews in Bangalore, Indore,
Kolkata, Mumbai, and New Delhi only.
Selection
Candidates
are short-listed for Group Discussion & Personal Interview on the
basis of their performance in CAT/GMAT, academic record, and relevant work
experience. Final selection to PGP would be based on criteria, such as the
candidate€™s academic record, scholastic achievements, relevant work
experience, performance in CAT/GMAT, group discussion, and personal
interview.
Expenses
Presently,
yearly expenses on tuition, library, computer, room, board, teaching
material, and other fees would be about Rs.1,60,000/-.
Personal expenses on travel, clothes, laundry, etc. will be in addition to
the above expenses. The above expenses for international candidates will
amount to $11000.00 per annum.
It would be the endeavor of IIM Indore that no student should be denied
opportunity to pursue the PGP in management for want of financial
resources. Those students who cannot finance their education at IIM Indore
on their own would be provided assistance in raising loans from
institutional financial agencies.
Executive Post Graduate
Programme
Executive
Post-Graduate Programme is a uniquely designed programme for working
executives and entrepreneurs. The objective of the programme is to provide
an opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills
continually.
Eligibility
A 3
yrs bachelors degree in any discipline.
More than 5yrs of
managerial/entrepreneurial/professional work experience.
Organizational
Sponsorship desirable.
Selection
The
selection would be based on performance in CAT/GMAT, personal interview,
candidate€™s academic record, scholastic achievements and relevant work
experience after graduation.
Fees
and Expenses
For the entire programme, Rs
4,00,000/- will be charged, which covers tuition, computer use, lodging
and boarding during the campus visits, and teaching materials etc.
Personal expenses such as travel, clothing and laundry will have to be
borne by the participant. Fee for NRI candidate is 35,000 US$.
Reservation
Fifteen
percent, seven and a half percent, and three percent seats are reserved
for scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, and physically challenged (as per
provisions of Persons with Disabilities Act, 1995) candidates
respectively, meeting IIMI€™s admission
requirements.
Fellow Programme in Management
(FPM)
FPM is a four/five
years programme .It is designed to provide both breadth and depth of
knowledge to doctoral participants in management. The prime objective of
the programme centers on creating competence in teaching and research in
management education, and practice.
The Fellow
Programme takes four to five years to complete, including two years of
rigorous course work followed by research work leading to a thesis. While
the first year of course work is common with IIMI's Post-graduate
Programme, the second year involves advanced doctoral level courses in the
chosen area of specialization.On successful completion of course work, the
participant is required to undertake a research work leading to a thesis.
The participant is required to write a research proposal under the
guidance of the Thesis Advisory Committee (TAC) and has to make a public
defense.
Candidates can apply to any one of the following two
areas of specialization:
Finance &
Accounting
Operations Management and Quantitative
Techniques
Eligibility
Candidates
should have any of the following:
(a) a Master€™s
degree in any discipline, with at least 55 per cent marks (High Second
Class),
(b) a Bachelor€™s degree with completed
professional qualifications like CA, ICWA, CS, with at least 55 per cent
marks and with minimum of two years post-qualification work
experience,
(c) a B.E./B. Tech. degree with at least
60 per cent marks with a minimum of two years post-qualification work
experience.
Those appearing
for the final year Master€™s degree examination or its equivalent may
also apply, subject to completion of all the requirements before the
registration date, i.e. end-June 2006.
Selection
Candidates
for the FPM are required to appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT). On
the basis of their performance in CAT, their academic background and
experience, candidates will be called for an interview at IIM, Indore, for
final selection, during March/April 2006.
CAT 2005 is not necessary for the following category of
candidates:
1. PGP Alumni from any of IIMs
(Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Indore, Kozhikode, and
Lucknow).
2. Candidates residing abroad can send their
GMAT scores (validity of these scores is for two years as on date of
application), in lieu of CAT.
3. Candidates applying
to the Operations Management and Quantitative Techniques area can send
their GATE/GRE scores (GATE/GRE taken only in 2004 or 2005), in lieu of
CAT.
4. Candidates can send their UGC/CSIR JRF
(Research) qualifying certificates in relevant disciplines in lieu of CAT.
Validity of JRF (Research) certificate is for two years as on the date of
application.
Financial Aid
The FPM
participants will get a monthly stipend of Rs.7000/- in the first year,
Rs.8000/-p.m. in the second year, Rs.9000/-p.m. in the third year, and
Rs.10000/-p.m. in the fourth year. Annual increase in the stipend is
subject to periodic performance review. Higher stipend may be offered in
case of relevant work and academic experience, subject to a maximum of
Rs.10,000/-p.m. The FPM participants will be entitled to the stipend for a
maximum period of four years. A contingency grant of Rs.25,000/-per annum
to cover research expenses, and books and stationery allowance is
available to all FPM participants during the first four years of the
programme. Thus, the total period shall not exceed five
years.
Title
The title
"Fellow of the Indian Institute of Management Indore" will be awarded on
successful completion of the programme.

organization to stand apart in the crowd. Hence, it becomes imperative for
managers to continuously educate and update themselves about the changes
and evolving management practices. For this purpose, IIM Indore considers
its role of imparting training and development to corporate executives,
through open MDPs, customized in-house programmes and consultancy, as an
important activity.
The MDPs at IIM Indore started in the year 2000-01
and since then has been growing with the support of over 220 organizations
till now.
In addition to MDPs, IIM Indore also conducts various tailor-made
programmes for both corporate and non-corporate organizations catering to
the specific needs of the client organization.
