MHT-CET ( Maharashtra Common Entrance Test)

Common Entrance Test ( CET - Maharashtra ) is conducted by the directorate of Technical Education for all health sciences, Engineering and Pharmacy degree courses. The Government of Maharashtra is appointed a Competent Authority for the MHT-CET for each streams .

Introduction

 
The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test or MHT-CET for all Health sciences, Engineering and Pharmay Degree Courses  conducted by the Government of Maharashtra and for that purpose it has appointed the Director, Medical Education and Research as the  authority. 
 
For the selection purpose there would be different competent authorities and the Directorate of Technical Education Maharashtra will be the competent authority for Engineering and Parma Courses. MHT CET 2009 is conducted for admission to the Govt./Municipal Corp./ Govt. Aided colleges of Health Sciences degree courses, Govt./ Govt. Aided/ University Managed Colleges/ University Departments and Unaided Private Colleges (those colleges who have given consent to participate in MHT-CET 2009) of Engineering and Pharmacy degree Courses and BVSc & AH degree course.
 
The merit list of the above said examination will be utilized for admission in:
1) Govt. / Corp. / Govt. Aided Colleges of Health Sciences degree courses.
2) Govt. /Govt. Aided / University Managed Colleges / University Departments and Unaided Private Colleges (those colleges who have given consent to participate in MHT-CET-2007) of Engineering & Pharmacy degree courses
3) BVSc & AH degree course.
 
 

Eligibility

 
Indian nationals passed or appearing in the HSC (Std. XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with Maths and English as the subjects at HSC or its equivalent examination and must have secured minimum 50% aggregate marks (45% for backward class category candidates from Maharashtra State only). Outside Maharashtra candidates would be eligible to appear in the MHT-CET but they would be considered for admission to unaided private institutes only.
