PTUCET (Punjab Technical University CET)
Punjab Technical University Jalandhar has been appointed by the Government of Punjab as the authority competent to make admissions to the first year of B. Tech. / B. Arch. / B.Pharm. courses being conducted in various Colleges/Institutes/Universities and for conducting Combined Entrance Test (CET 2009) for residents of Punjab (85% Category only)
Courses offered and institutes
A. The admissions through CET 2009 will be made for the following Universities /
(i) Punjab Technical University s affiliated Engineering / Pharmacy Colleges / Institutions
for Engineering & Technology / Pharmacy Courses.
(ii) Guru Nanak Dev University, Main Campus at Amritsar and its Regional Campus at
Jalandhar and Gurdaspur for Engineering Courses.
(iii) Punjabi University, Main Campus at Patiala, its Regional Campus at Guru Ki Kashi,
Talwandi Sabo and Rampura Phul (Phul-Mehraj) for Engineering Courses.
(iv) Punjab Agricultural University, College of Agricultural Engineering, Ludhiana for
B. Admission to B. Architecture course shall be made based on the valid NATA Score and
marks secured in the qualifying examination in the ratio of 50:50. The Cadidates who are
applying for this course only need to not take CET-2009 entrance examination.

For eligibility for 85% seats category candidates should be a resident of Punjab State in terms of Punjab Govt., Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (PP II Branch) letter no. 1/3/95-3PP II/9619 dated 6th June 1996 and letter no. 1/3/95-3PP II / 81 dated 1st Jan 1999,or should have passed 10+1 and 10+2 examination as a regular candidate from recognized institution situated in Punjab. Each candidate would be required to submit a certificate to this effect from the Principal / Head of Institution last attended in the prescribed performa.Admission to different Universities shall be governed by their respective eligibility criteria

Note: The candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination shall also be eligible to appear in the Entrance Test. The admission of such candidates to the Entrance Test shall be purely provisional and shall stand cancelled, if they fail to produce their eligibility at the time of counselling.
Following fees (in Rs.) are payable: -
For SC/ST candidates* - Rs. 500/-
All others - Rs. 1000/-
APPLICATION FOR CET-2009
5.1 PRESCRIBED APPLICATION FORM
Application form to be filled by the candidate appearing in CET-2009 is enclosed in this brochure.Follow the instructions for filling the application
Form given in Part-C of the Information Brochure Put the completed Application Form with cardboard alongwith proof of deposit of fee (Second copy of deposit
slip) and other documents in the envelope (colour Brown) provided for the purpose.

5.2 SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION
(a) Each candidate taking CET-2009 is required to submit his / her application on prescribed application form filled in his own handwriting neatly and elegibly along with examination fee deposit slip (Enclosed in white envelope alongwith application form).Schedule Caste / Schedule Tribe candidates must
attach the certificate as per the format (given in Annexure - VI (i)) in the absence of which the application form shall be rejected.

RESERVED CATEGORY'S CLAIM
Every candidate must indicate in his / her application the reserved category and sub reserved category (if applicable) for which he / she wants to apply. Candidate seeking admission under a reserved category is entitled to apply for only one reserved category.Candidate shall be required to bring original claim at the time of Counselling or when called upon to do so.Candidates not claiming any reservation shall be treated and considered as a "General Candidate".
Rules / Instructions of Govt. of Punjab, Regarding reserved categories as amended from time to time, will be applicable. The reservation policy of the Punjab Govt.is also given in this Brochure.
Reservation policy of Universities other than PTU shall be governed by their respective reservation criteria. PTU shall have no role in interpreting such criteria.
