Government should stop funding IITs and IIMs instead, divert funds to primary education.

Favor

  • India is not a developed country and literacy ratio in India is very low so, government should focus on education of poor people rather than, spending huge money on small group of population.
  • Students, who are receiving higher education in India, are migrating out of India, serving other nation’s that is really awful.
  • India is a democratic country. Democracy can only be successful if everyone is literate and that could be achieved by focusing on primary education.
  • Spending huge amount of money on IIT & IIM is like dividing nation in 2 different groups. One group cannot even afford primary education whereas; other group is receiving higher education on government grant.
  • Most of the people going for IITs & IIMs are self-capable, so government should make all these institutes self-financed and stop funding.

Against

  • India is still in development phase so; we need these institutes to promote our young talent on international platform.
  • It is true that students from IITs & IIMs are migrating but they are sending back money to country eventually that money is being utilized in India.
  • In this phase of development in which nation is going through, we need more talent, so we need better higher education for youngsters in India.
  • For growth we need innovative minds so we need people who are Indians and who can create better systems for us. IIT's and IIM’s are producing such brains.
  • Students from other countries are travelling to India for higher education in these institutes so, eventually revenue is coming back.

Conclusion

  • We can’t compare primary education, which is gigantic with IITs & IIMs which is concentrated to small population.
  • IITs and IIMs can be self-financed but students should get scholarship in case of fee hike.

Point: IITs/NITs/IIMs should be made self-financing.Also side by side scholarship should be given to students who are *genuinely economically backward but talented*.With this model India will be able to still churn out IITians.Govt should concentrate on primary education and basic literacy.

Point: On the other hand govt sending lot of money for primary education, food, clothes, scholarships, books everything for primary students...but students not getting even one 20th of the found..because our system is corrupted.so there is not point on withdrawing fund from IIT and IIM.

Point: First thing is fee for primary education is very low..parents can afford it.for those ppl who cant afford this they must go to govt schools.if still they cant afford little school fee, well such people should not marry. If govt dont give fund to IIT or IIM institute fee will be so high that only rich people can study..then what will happen to those poor students who are talented and knowledge ?

Point: goverment should focus on primery eduction we have seen in recent days private school are not in the mood of giving primery education to poor after implementing "right to education" they have challenged it in court therefor without base we cannot build piller but iim and iit should be given funding because we should think about ecnmically weak stuents also

Point: Production of Space. Most of the communities in India (such as Bengali), are succumbed in 'Culture of Poverty'(a theory introduced by an American anthropologist Oscar Lewis), irrespective of class or economic strata, lives in pavement or apartment. Nobody is at all ashamed of the deep-rooted corruption, decaying general quality of life, worst Politico-administrative system, weak mother language, continuous absorption of common space (mental as well as physical, both). We are becoming fathers

Point: the iits and iims are world class institutes not bcz of the standard of faculty or research but bcz of the students studying there.they are talented and capable.they know what they want.the govt shd work on r weak areas instead of funding the iits and iims.why only the elite are provided with all the facilities? the govt shd focus on primary education and improvign the literacy rate.this will also help ward off other evils like child labour.

Point: there are lots of students who have skills and talent but dont have funds.so for these students its a duty of a government to provide them these IIMs and IITs kind of places where they can upgrade themselves by investing less amount of fees.

Point: But seeing through the latest of india primary schools ratio is more than IIT and IIM so government should invest more and more so that the students who could not pay the fees of IIM can also live a life like of IIM students

Point: 1.Today parents are educated and able enough to give their child atleast primary education so the government shloud fund IIT,IIM so that the burden on parents will be less. 2.kerala is the litrate state not because government funding its because of awareness and less corruption in the education system.

Point: There is still shortage of faculties and infrastructure in elite institutes like IITs and IIMs. Also the Govt. has taken initiative of opening more IITs ans IIMs bcz of increase in OBC seats. Hence, to create such infrastructures funding is necessary and this would benefit the backward class. The primary education has been made compulsary and huge sums are being invested but the results have been dismal. To improve primary education, channelizing the funds and effective governing body is more important than deviating the funds from preier institutes.

Point: well in my opinion both these aspects are two sides of the same coin. if the govt. would stop funding the iits and iims then the poorer and the capable student would stop dreaming about higher studies for they cannot afford to take a huge sum of loan which in turn will lower down the technical excellence of our nation, becoz then, only the rich and people belonging to royal family will go for this courses and all of them may not be competitive enough. i do agree that the quotas should not be there in this field, but still we should not debarre the rights of capable one's from getting such educations. on the other hand the govt should find some other alternatives for funding the primary education which is also the need of the hour.

Point: according to me govenment shoud give the funds to iits and iims.because it's fees are very high.so even the person is inteligent but because of fees he or she cant go ahead.so it's wrong with that.and if we think about primary study, fees are not much more so parents can afforts.no doubt very poor people can't affort.but for that they have go for govenment school.

Point: I dont think that our governament should provide funds to IIT's and IIM's becz they dnt need to get funds they are in way to provide funds. governament should provide funds to primary education to students who wanted to study they should be encoraged to study by proving funds to primary education wher the base is not in a correct way then why should we bother about the IIT's and IIM's?

Point: Well, funding primary education is much more important than higher education as a country builds up on strong pillars and if the basic education system is weak i.e, the primary education, their is no point in helping institutes for higher education. They have many other sources of income rather than asking for funds from government.

Point: Why Government should fund IITs when there is a huge crunch of funds for primary education, instead Govt should made financial institutions to provide education loans to every student in need at minimum interest, so that funds can be diverted to make India educated.

Point: IIT's and IIM's have to spend lot of money on research and development and if government will stop funding to them then finally students will have to pay for this by increase in fee. If a student can't afford then he will have to take heavy loans.

Point: IITs provide a very good standard of education that can be obtained in popular international universities only.We indians must be proud of having such and all are equally privleged to study there.government should never stop fundig such institutes because there are many youngsters in the economically poorer sections who are aspiring to study in these institutes.

Point: what is think about this is that giving fund to iits and iims is not the main problem, infact the question of the hour is that how lift up the education level(primary education) along with higher level. So we need to concentrate on this that how we can increase or develop the primary education level.

Point: The education System in India has not still arrived to the level where in the weakest portion of the society can get in to the eduction platform, hence the talent at that end dies at the begining itself, as the education at Primary level is much more diversed topic the govt. should divert the funds to the Primary Education, if the Population will be educated we will be able to produce more IITn's & IIM professionals

Point: I think primary education requires more concentration than higher education. Students admitting in IITs & IIMs know importance of education but poor, illiterate people not.

Point: In my view there wont be any subsidies for IIT's IIM's coz students r generally capable of paying lakhs rupees or they can manage themselves from bank loan as they r sure of making money once they leave the institute. at the same time the same subsidies should be allowed for primary education

Point: IITs and IIMs are India's premier institutes. They choose the creme of the country. Funds given to them by Government would only help them to be more recognized and impartial. These institutes have to long way to make their presence felt in the world's list of premier institutes.

Point: Earlier fees at IIMs was less when compared to other B-schools but now d fees has been hiked and is more when compared to other top B-schools. The Govt. can use the money for improving primary education condition. For eg., it can pay the fees of good but poor students in private schools or can bring ppp model by funding for the poor students as private schools are never so keen on admitting poor students. This is a better option than forcing quota system. IIMs and IITs are huge organisations and have enough money to cater to their needs and should instead help Govt. to put the money to the right use. After all spreading education is the real motive.
