With IT replacing middle level management, software jobs are more lucrative than MBAs
Favour
- Software professionals have analytical skills which is good for management jobs as well so IT professional have choice to move to management job any time in his career but it’s not same for an MBA.
- Software professionals have opportunity to work abroad so; there job is more lucrative and growth is also better then MBAs. MBA's can’t get exposure and benefits of working abroad easily.
Against
- Pay scale of Software professional is lesser compared to MBA’s pay scale. In software field middle level employee can make 10 lakhs per annum but an MBA can make around 15 to 20 lakhs per annum.
- People who want to manage other people do not have scope in the software field.
Conclusion
- MBA and software both having there advantages it depends on, what kind of opportunity we are getting.

Point: ya i too think that in MBA there"s much opportunity than in IT field as we get lots of scope to secure a better job, can gain more knowledge abt how to deal with clients, seniors, juniors, sub-ordinates, what r the tools n techniques required to run an Organisation etc....

Point: A IT professional cant performed like a MBA manager.he possess much more intellectual skills as well as experience to handle their clients more effciently.In the fields other than IT like Banking or other financial sectors MBA is highly needed.an IT prifessional cant perform like a financial analyst.

Point: There are lakhs of engineers in this country who irrespective of their specialisation end up in software job. comparitively there are less mbas.its more elite and also highly specialized in terms of learning.hence they are better managers and receive better pay packets too

Point: In software job also a MBA is preferred. This is because as one makes progress in the IT field, managerial roles increase. One have to manage people working under him which is better served if the Project Lead or the Project/ Account Manager is a MBA.
