Managerial skills learnt from classroom can never match those learnt from experience.
Favour
- In class rooms a student can only read books and read case studies which are not the experience of him so it not imprints in his mind and lost soon.
- It is a fact that text books can cover only few situations where as real life is combination of many other complex situations
- Reading just gives students glimpse how they should react in a particular situation but when that particular situation comes in real life it depends on his personality that how he reacts.
- In real life a situation and its memory is combination of reaction, result and feelings like sadness, happiness ,winning, loss which becomes part of human mind forever which not happens in classroom
Against
- Books cover all basic situation to describe all complex situations so basically a manager face one of the situation almost all time
- Institutes are providing experience to students by using techniques of drama and role play in classroom which is a great way of learning real life problems in real time scenarios
Conclusion
- Real time experience is always more important than the classroom studies.
- In classroom studies one can learn more using modern techniques of learning.

Point: The difference basically lies between theory and practical.in classroom people learn things theoritically, whereas experience comes out of practical things.so,if you come across something in your real life you will be able to react into situations in future better than somebody who has learnt things theoritically.but theoritical experience can be better if some real life experiences are put in the form of role play, drama, etc.this will make people proactive and not reactive.

Point: In my point of view: I think that to get the experience, first we have to learn from book after that we are going to feel in our real life with our theories which lies in our book which help us to face the real situation because first learn from book after that get the experience which are going to come in our real life.

Point: i think managerial skills are more needy rather than class room study.the point is that which one is more helpful ur career so my suggestion is that practical knowledge is very needy to seeing current situation because today whether u having more degree but if u dont have experience in particular field than u can not do anything like for example- engineering, piolot and etc

Point: theories and princiies are mere ideality that we learn and often we come across some of the exampies already faced practically but in real time experience we have to face problems that are distraction from those idealities so after classroom, real time experience is necessary.

Practically sometimes we have to take some important decision which affects our organisation so on that time our practical thinking is more important than our bookish knowledge. In professionalism we have to be prepare for the any type of situation

Point: Although i can't use extreme phrase that it never matches but yes for sure the real experience are quite varied from those that are printed around in books. as mentioned in several comments, many books give upon certain stone turning case studies which almost are standard in many books and in some other there are certain other cases quoted which the author might himself have experienced it or has seen that happen. so each one's story differs but each one is that factual enough. one can argue that books cover lot many aspects,no doubt in that but when situation actually approaches you no one encroaches to think what was the solution mentioned in the book and how to tackle it--the behavior of ours at that moment is instant. and if we take a wrong step,it is automatically registered in our mind and when second time we go through such phases we think of other alternatives.

Point: Its not about how to gain a skill, its about matching the real time with theories.
Class room provides you the platform but in the actual scenario you learn more being a part of industry where so many dependents follow your decisions. Wrong decision are never forgotten, giving you a chance to improve and good ones no doubt builds confidence.
