One superpower is better than two in world.

Favor

  • Having two super powers leads to a situation of constant tension between two nations. This leads to cloud of fear covering world. World Wars have been an evidence of extent to which human breed can go to stay in power and to suppress other nations. Be it Pearl Harbor or the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings, game of power has adverse effects.

  • If two super powers exist than they can indulge in wasting their resources in WAR and other destructive activities.

Against

  • If we have only one superpower, there will be no nuclear arms race and terrorism could be controlled, but as we have witnessed since in past century, after US emerging as sole power, terrorism has increased.

  • If there is one superpower, and it collapses, all other economies across world get badly affected, because of dependency of all countries on one super power. However, this impact can be mitigated; if we have more than one superpower. Like what is happening in current recession.

  • Existence of two super powers is very necessary for world because it put us in balanced situation otherwise one power could hurt other countries.

  • Competition between two super powers can do lot of innovations; race to moon between US and Russia has given lot of invention during cold war.

  • The existence of one superpower leads to natural monopoly wherein leader becomes complacent to point of becoming unabashedly cruel, as demonstrated by USA in Iraq.

Conclusion

  • Existence of 2 3 4 Super power do not matter what matters, super powers are putting their resources in development of humanity rather wasting them in destructive activities.
