Address: An ophthalmic assistant will be able to find employment in hospitals (both government and private), eye-clinics, and optician shops. Ophthalmic Assistant course will cover the following areas Lensometry,Spectacle principles,Color vision testing,Ocular dressings and shields,Evaluation of pupils,Visual fields,Clinical optics,Ocular motility.
Higher secondary degree with a minimum of 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology or a General Educational Development certificate with two years of college before they can start with the Ophthalmic Assistant course. The Bachelor degree courses will last for 4 years and the certificate courses will take a maximum time limit of two years to complete. In some institutes the applicants are required to appear for an entrance examination.
