 MICA is an academic institution that has been set up to develop professional communication skills in India. The institute primarily aims at imparting relevant education to young men and women with a view to provide them with the expertise to become effective communications professionals. 


 Courses Offered 

 The Post-Graduate Programme in Communications Management (PGPCM) is the flagship programme of MICA. It is a two-year residential programme that is recognised by the industry as a breakthrough in the study of integrated marketing communications management in India.

MICA's students come from diverse backgrounds, which in itself help them to examine managerial issues from multiple perspectives. The students are admitted through Common Admission Test. They are given rigorous training in different functional areas of management and exposed to best corporate practices. Teaching methods and learning pedagogy at the MICA include lectures, case studies, seminars, group discussions, business games, role plays, simulation exercises, structured and unstructured group work, as well as field visits. The emphasis is on involving the students in learning and helping them to relate concepts and theories to business requirements. As an added advantage, the learning provided at MICA is not only restricted to the class-room. Several MICA students take up live projects with industry, in addition to the summer internships, so as to get an insight into the realities of real-world business.

Additionally, the key essential catalyst in this process of transformation is our highly accomplished and erudite faculty. Our faculty members are involved in facilitating learning through teaching, consultancy, as well as leading-edge research in key managerial areas. Many of them have taken up faculty assignments at MICA after twenty or thirty years of experience in senior positions with leading Corporates in India . Selection Process:

The selection process of MICA is very rigorous. The students enter MICA's PGPCM program through one of the following:

  • (CAT) Common Admissions Test - administered by IIMs. OR

  • (XAT) Xaivers Admissions Test - Common Entrance Exam administered by the XLRI (Starting Academic Year 2006) OR

  • GMAT Entrance Exam administered by Universities across the Globe.

In addition to these exams, the short listed students are expected to appear for (MICAT) which is the MICA Entrance Test. The MICAT is designed to test lateral thinking, psycho social competencies, in addition to language, creative and leadership aptitude. This is followed by Group Discussions and Personal Interviews. A weighted average of different components determines the students final admissions hat MICA.
